Your invitation to be part of shaping a stronger ANU

The Nixon Review recommendations provide an opportunity to shape a new cultural foundation drawing on the expertise and local experience of academics, professional staff and students within our community. 

Chaired by the Provost, the Nixon Review Implementation Steering Group is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the recommendations made by Professor Nixon following her external Review of the former 91视频College of Health and Medicine. 

The Provost and Steering Group are now inviting from members of the University community who are interested in supporting the implementation of the Review recommendations by participating in time limited thematic Working Groups.

About Working Groups

  • The role of Working Groups is to identify solutions and recommendations for consideration by the Steering Group as they develop a comprehensive Implementation Plan.
  • Each Working Group will be referred a subset of recommendations and actions from Professor Nixon鈥檚 Review and draw upon our community鈥檚 subject matter expertise and local experiences to identify and recommend solutions that will improve our systems, workplace practices and behaviours and embed lasting cultural change.
  • While it鈥檚 anticipated that each Working Group will find its own ways of working, there are core tasks and activities common across all the Groups. They are set out in Clause 13 of the and include Identifying existing and planned initiatives within ANU; considering mitigations for any potential barriers to implementation; and highlighting potential alternative best practices.
  • Working Groups should prioritise recommendations that can be implemented in the short, medium and longer term with a focus on using existing resources. 
  • Working Groups will populate an output template providing the Steering Group with advice of:
    • existing and planned initiatives within 91视频addressing the identified issue
    • mitigations for any potential barriers to the recommendation/action
    • alternatives best practices to achieve the outcomes intended

The EOI process

  • Before completing your EOI application, you should be familiar with the for the University鈥檚 Nixon Review response, the and key dates below.
  • Working Group members are asked to make a time commitment of 60-90 minutes a week for the 12 weeks duration 
  • You don鈥檛 need to write a long application. We ask for a few details about your skills and experience and how you would like to make a contribution.

  • The closing date for submission of EOIs is 5pm AEST on Tuesday 8 July 2025.
  • EOIs will be assessed and shortlisted based on the need to provide Groups with a range of skills, experience and representation. The Steering Group Chair will then offer positions. 
  • Membership of Groups is intended to be around 10-12 people. Each group will have academic and professional staff Co-Chairs and at least one student member.
