Associate Professor Pierre van der Eng

Associate Professor, Research School of Management

The Academic Board is an important part of 91视频governance. It bridges the gap between university administration and academic staff at the 'coal face' of teaching and research. The Board offers opportunities to convey staff concerns directly to 91视频senior management. College representatives on the Board also alert colleagues to 91视频policy changes that affect their work.

My tasks as Board member will include advocating CBE interests and keeping CBE colleagues better informed on 91视频policy changes. I will also foster inter-College collaboration. Based on research contacts in CAP and CASS, I believe that the 91视频is greater than the sum of its parts. Board interactions help to identify opportunities for CBE to cooperate with other Colleges to mutual advantage.

I am Associate Professor in RSM, where I initiated the teaching of International Business (IB) courses and advocated the development of IB curricula. I was Associate Dean in CBE and Deputy Director of RSM, before secondments as Deputy Head of the 91视频Centre for European Studies and the 91视频Indonesia Project.

I teach IB courses. My research includes IB and business history and focuses on Asian countries and Australia. I currently research responses of markets and firms to changes in national and international business contexts. I published 80 journal articles and book chapters and am currently working on and ARC Discovery project into Australia's long-term experiences with inward foreign investment and multinational enterprises.
